Visa Application

MMBD 2024 will be held in Beijing, China, international participants should be particularly aware of and careful about visas. Please plan your travel in advance and allow plenty of time to apply for a visa.

*Important Notice:

According to China News, from 0:00 on December 1, 2023 to 24:00 on November 30, 2024, holders of ordinary passports from France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and Malaysia can enter China visa-free for business, tourism, visiting friends and relatives and transit for no more than 15 days, except these three cases below that still need to apply for visas to China before entering the country: 1. not meeting the visa exemption reasons; 2. not meet visa exemption time limits; 3. holders of official passports from France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and Malaysia.
The agreements between China and Thailand, China and Singapore for Mutual Visa Exemption for Holders of ordinary Passports were signed on January 2024.

According to China News posted on January 28, 2024 via (http://th.china-embassy.gov.cn/eng/zgyw/202401/t20240129_11235149.htm), "China and Thailand will enter a 'visa-free era' as the two sides have just signed an agreement on mutual visa exemption. The agreement will enter into force on March 1, 2024. By then, Chinese holders of ordinary official passports and ordinary passport and Thai holders of ordinary passports can enter each other's country without a visa for a single stay of no more than 30 days (no more than 90 days per 180 days). Those who enter the other country for work, study, news reporting, residence and other activities requiring prior approval and plan to stay in the other country for more than 30 days shall obtain the corresponding visa before entering the other country."

According to China News posted on January 26, 2024 via (http://sg.china-embassy.gov.cn/sgsd/202401/t20240126_11234088.htm), "Thanks to the joint efforts of China and Singapore, the Agreement between the Government of the People's Republic of China and the Government of the Republic of Singapore on Mutual Visa Exemption for Holders of ordinary Passports was officially signed in Beijing on January 25. The agreement will enter into force on February 9, 2024. By then, holders of ordinary passports from both sides can enter each other's country without a visa for a stay of no more than 30 days. Those who enter the other country for work, news reporting and other activities requiring prior approval and plan to stay in the other country for more than 30 days shall obtain the corresponding visa before entering the other country."

According to China News posted on November 24, 2023 via (http://my.china-embassy.gov.cn/fwzc/lsyw/blfhqz/202311/t20231124_11186390.htm), "In order to further promote personnel exchanges between China and Malaysia, from 0:00 on December 1, 2023 to 24:00 on November 30, 2024, Malaysian ordinary passport holders can enter China visa-free for business, tourism, visiting relatives and friends and transit for no more than 15 days. Those who do not meet the visa exemption requirements and time limits are still required to apply for a visa to visit China before entering the country. Malaysian citizens who have previously been issued visas to visit China shall continue to hold valid visas; Visa applications that have been accepted will be processed normally."

Conference Organizing Committee cannot issue visas to attend the conference but can issue an Invitation letter to assist with your visa application. If you need the Invitation letter from the conference, please send the following information to mmbd@mmbdconf.org:
• Your full name as it appears on your passport
• Gender (Male / Female)
• Nationality
• Date of Birth: (e.g. March 25, 1960)
• Passport No.
• Your paper number if you are an author

Notes: (1) Please be noted that an invitation letter will only be issued upon confirmation of registration and after full payment for registration fees has been received. Invitation letters are only issued via email in PDF format and will be sent within approximately one week after your information is received by the Organizing Committee.
(2) Participants are highly recommended to apply for Tourist Visa; the Organizing Committees can not issue any official letters of invitation for your visa application due to Chinese regulations.

Thus, you may apply for 144-Hour Visa-free Transit to enter and visit Beijing & specified area for not exceeding 6 days, if you have a layover in Beijing and are eligible for all the requirements.
